Wedding Mass

Mass starts promptly at 11:30 AM. Out of respect for the sacraments, we kindly request all attendees arrive by 11:15 AM. Since marriage is a Sacrament, this ceremony is the heart of our celebration and the most meaningful part of our wedding day. The Wedding Mass will be done in the Tridentine Rite (Traditional Latin Mass) at St. Stephen Church. This Mass is composed of two parts: the Marriage Service and the Nuptial Mass. During the Marriage Service, the bride and groom exchange vows and receive a blessing from the priest. This is followed by the Nuptial Mass, where the newlyweds join in their first Eucharist as husband and wife.

Reception

The wedding reception is a time for both families and friends of the bride and groom to come together, socialize, and celebrate the occasion. A formal dinner will be served, followed by the serving of the wedding cake.
As this is a dry event, no alcohol will be served. This decision reflects our desire to focus on the sacredness of the day and ensure a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere for all guests. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Dress Code

In accordance with the reverence of the Traditional Latin Mass, we kindly request more formal attire. For Latin Mass, dress typically includes the following:

  • Ladies: Floor-length or below-the-knee dresses.
  • Gentlemen: A suit and tie.

About Us

I met Emma online on Instagram through a mutual Catholic account we both followed. Emma reached out to me and we began texting all the time and video calling whenever we had free time. After two weeks talking, our first date was on Sunday, March 24th when I attended Mass with her family and spent the day together walking around the city of Wyandotte, visiting other churches, and getting to know each other.

Starting a long-distance relationship, I saw Emma at least once a month, and we traveled everywhere we could. From Cuyahoga National Park in Ohio to Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado, we spent as much time as possible going on adventures together and learning even more about each other in the process.

After six months of dating, I planned a surprise proposal for Emma on September 8th, making an unannounced trip to Michigan I chose the Mary garden outside St. Stephen Church in New Boston as the perfect spot for the proposal. To celebrate afterward, I arranged a dinner at an Italian restaurant in Wyandotte. The afternoon was spent reliving some of our favorite memories together, including revisiting the church where we had our first date, taking a stroll through a park, and enjoying ice cream together.
